I took one of my fursuit heads to school last week and showed my Graphics Design teacher, Mrs. Allison, who also used to be my Art teacher during my Freshman year. She's probably one of the coolest teachers I've ever had---not in her teaching skills, but in that she's really open-minded and loves to talk to her students. x3

Anyway. When I showed her the head, she looked it over and asked me what certain parts were made of, how I did it, etc. After I finished explaining, she paused and then said "I think this is the coolest thing I've ever seen." Needless to say, my ego inflated a little bit (especially considering my AP Art IV teacher didn't really even care). xD

Well, today I was telling her about how I'm going to an "art" convention this weekend (shush, I didn't wanna explain furry to her and it's true enough xD), and told her that there would be people there in costume and such. She replied "Are you going to be wearing yours?". It was just...generally fun and entertaining. X3 I think I might bring back some photos for her after the con. idk.

YAY FOR COOL TEACHERS.

Thats one wicked cool teacher.
I try and hide my furry side away from anyone in my personal life, its hard enough trying to explain, or why I have a fox plush on my desk at work lol. Perhaps I'll just give up and come to our Halloween party in suit *snrk*

What an awesome teacher. I have a few who are cool about talking to students here. But not sure if I would approach any of them about my Furriness..

I don't talk with friends about it much. Here on LJ is where I show my fur.. if you will.

Glad you got some recognition for your hard work!

I do the same thing when telling people about conventions. I say I'm going to a "costuming" convention. ^^
